My Story

Pencil Artist, Pet Commissions, Pet Artist

Welcome

I remember my very first day at School and sitting down to draw, I was always passionate about art and loved to draw and paint. Art was my favourite subject in High School, I loved my art teachers and felt like that was my calling.

At the age of 17 I studied art and design and then took a very long break to pursue my career in magic. In 2020 I fell back in love with art, trying out different mediums, learning new techniques and throwing myself completely into this new found passion.

I have discovered that I love drawing in pastel pencils, my passions are wildlife and pet commissions and I can’t think of any greater honour than being asked to draw someone’s beloved pet.

My partner and I made some major life changing decisions in 2020, we sold our house and now live on a 60′ Narrowboat called Morning Star. We wanted to pursue a more relaxed lifestyle and enjoy life more. To be sat on our narrowboat surrounded by beautiful scenery, while drawing and creating art is a dream come true for me.

Art has quickly become my passion and a real change from my last profession as a professional magician.

Materials

I specialise in pastel pencil.

Most of my work is drawn on PastelMatt paper, a thick textured paper with lots of tooth for the many layers of pastel pencil used to produce the artworks.

I sometimes draw on transfer film paper and you can achieve some amazing subtle backgrounds on this medium such as the Little Robin Artwork

Most of my artwork takes 25-30 hours of work for each piece.

All prints are printed on high quality Giclee Paper mounted and signed and ready to frame. The prints are sealed in a clear bag and a hard backed envelope for safe postage.

Our Narrowboat

Mt partner and I spent two years planning and saving for our Narrowboat and in 2020 we sold our house and moved aboard.

Our boat is 60′ long, storing and using art supplies can be a challenge but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Creating and selling art from the Narrowboat is a dream come true and we get to explore the beautiful countryside finding inspiration and meeting some amazing people along the way.

My studio is a beautiful narrowboat “Morning Star” Why not follow my journey here  follow our adventures Follow our adventures over on our YouTube Channel  Narrowboat Life Unlocked.
